Last week was Country Thunder USA here in Arizona. Four days of camping, drinking, and have a good time. So on one of the trips to the river I took the truck out. When I got there, I locked it into four low to get past some rough stuff, and I hear "wow, that front end really drops!" then "Dude, that shouldn't drop like that! I think he broke his truck!" I stopped and looked over at the two guys sitting there and said "what did you say to me?" "I think your truck is broke man." and with that I put it in park and hopped out. Here is what I saw... My passenger side shock hoop grenaded and in doing so left my passenger side with no suspension. Luckily for me the Sheriffs Office here has a great Posse Program which has assigned me to a great motor pool with access to all kind of tools when ever I need them. So I tore the hoop off and got down and dirty, only to find this... The rough road from the hoop breaking tore the mount all the hell making the bracket useless. So then I needed to make a new bracket to weld under the old mount so as not to change the height for the hoop to remount. I drilled the holes, and welded it into place. Then I welded the holes closed and redrilled them. Mounted up the new hoop, rotated the tires and headed home. Country Thunder claimed my truck, my Rhino, and my trailer. Most of it is cheap fixes though.
