Skyjacker Black MAX Shock Absorber B8516

The Skyjacker Black MAX Shock Absorber B8516 is designed to deliver consistent control and dependable performance for select Jeep applications. Its twin-tube construction provides increased fluid capacity, while advanced foam-cell technology helps maintain stable damping performance as operating temperatures change. When the shock absorber heats up, the foam-cell insert compresses to compensate for oil expansion, helping preserve consistent performance throughout the shock’s operating range.
The foam-cell design removes air from inside the shock absorber, allowing flexible mounting in any direction while supporting reliable operation. Arc-welded end mounts provide added durability, and application-specific valving is engineered to deliver balanced ride control and dependable handling. The Skyjacker Black MAX B8516 is a practical replacement or upgrade for drivers seeking durable shock absorber performance on compatible Jeep vehicles.
This shock absorber fits select 1984–1989 Jeep Cherokee models, as well as select 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee and 2004–2006 Jeep Wrangler applications. Verify vehicle compatibility before ordering. The Skyjacker B8516 features a collapsed length of 13.540 inches, an extended length of 22.750 inches, and 9.210 inches of shock travel.
